in reply to Peter Nimmo • • •the term AI is used for a number of different technologies that have very little to do with each other. In this particular case it's image-processing algorithms based on computer vision and machine learning. It's something that shares almost nothing with the generative AI sold by OpenAI, Google and other large companies.
They keep putting everything in the same bucket to keep the hype up since a lot of these technologies are essentially worthless.
