Rarely, we do get someone with whom we can hold the conversation in English and, seeing the live footage of the outside area, we can identify it as Gaza from our experience on previous calls. But 99% of the time it’s Joy and Aseel who, within a few moments of speaking to someone, can identify that they’re Palestinian from their dialect and who can tell that they’re in Gaza as they know the geography of their home. (That is, if they are in Gaza, we also verify Gazans displaced in Egypt, etc., who need help.) Joy and Aseel are doing the validations, really, and that’s how it should be. We’re just along for the ride and, in my case, tech support :)

To end, we haven’t even had a doubt about anyone who we’ve had a video call with and we’re approaching 100 members.
