One of the best ways to curate one’s timeline here is to follow @jwz and then just block all the unfortunate reply idiots he gets.

If I ever see him say “plonk” I know I just need to execute the state machine and also block without thought. He’s performing a valuable service on fedi here.

Agreed, but jwz takes a distant second place to @mattblaze for these purposes. Follow him too; his replies bring the idiots, wingnuts, unhinged ranters, and other reply guys out of the woodwork like snakes to the Pied Piper. Why? I have no idea...

Exactly! I have no idea how he gets so many. It's moths to a flame. He doesn't even post about the stuff that drags pedants out of their basements, modulo the occasional one about Faraday cages and bags...

@Npars01 Yes. I have a large account too, and get lots of trolls. I alert my followers to most of them by playing #WhackATroll and then saying #Toodles. WhackATroll=the alert. Toodles= report and block.

I rarely make a mistake, but if I mistakenly nail someone, I apologize publicly and unblock. I think it’s happened once in 2 years.
