Thank you for publishing your article and sharing the link to the lecture! Rear Admiral (lower half) Hopper was extraordinary computer scientist, mathematician and naval officer. She helped to create COBOL in the 1950s and the language remains in use today primarily in mainframe systems for high-volume transaction processing.

Its amazing how prophetic she was -- to this day we still dont know the value of information. So we over- alue it and nothing is ever deleted...

Thank you! Remember her well, met her while working in DoD during Cold War, amazing person & even at her age she recognized the coming of the (as we called them) microcomputer age & how it would affect the mainframes she had worked on all her life 🙂
