Missouri executed an innocent man, Marcellus “Khaliifah” Williams, despite the fact the prosecutor filed a motion to overturn the conviction due to new evidence he was innocent and the victim's family asked the execution be stopped.

The conservative governor refused to stay the execution, as did the conservative majority of SCOTUS, with the liberal Justices opposing their decision.
