Affordable for those who don't have a local PV panel monopoly strangling them.

I really wish I could get solar without having to scour every garage sale. I've got solarstein's monster sitting in front of my house lol.

My solar panels are small enough to fit in the back of a Toyota Prius, after several trips for all 30 of them, laid upon the ground in an hour, snapped together, they produce about several thousand watts of power, enough to keep me totally off grid, cool in the summer, and toasty during this winter. I haven't paid a single utility bill in four years. Highly recommend!

@dianea I'm a bit curious what it costs to reach that scale? My needs personally are simple for the most part, but I just have to run my AC in the summer or I'll die. (I start getting serious headaches, brain fog multiplies exponentially, etc etc when it reaches 25C or higher in my house. When it reaches 28C I start actually having mental issues. It's a real thing, not a personal preference. No I don't know why.) Other than the AC, it's pretty much just cooking stuff in a toaster oven or etc (I don't use my real oven, but I do use the stove eyes which I guess probably aren't using that much power. I think.) Other than that, my PC is the only big thing. Everything else is small. So I think a few kW might be enough even.

But the money...

$10,000 bought me an all in one setup, including 10KWh of lithium iron phosphate batteries, 6KW off grid inverter, and a 10KW pallet of panels. I'm sure the cost is less now. It was delivered onto my driveway the day after the order and set up by myself that afternoon. SignatureSolar in Texas and they usually have a free shipping deal.
