Amongst today's talk of the USA purchasing #Greenland, an obscure sideshow of history has emerged: The 1917 Treaty of the Danish West Indies.

This is where the USA successfully bought a number of islands from the Danes. Over 50 islands in total were sold for $ 25 million, and, in a further bizarre twist, two of these were then purchased by a private individual: Jeffrey Epstein
