Product announcements need a 'Skip AI section' button like the 'Skip Intro' button on streaming platforms.

Nicole Parsons reshared this.

After you said this, I'm gonna give it a few months max till SponsorBlock will add this. 😅

I think a lot of those would just skip to the very bottom 😑
in reply to Jeff Geerling

SponsorBlock needs custom categories, dunno how it'd work though
in reply to Jeff Geerling

they can use AI to automagically identify the offending content!
in reply to Jeff Geerling

oops, you might just accidentally skip the entire announcement haha
in reply to Jeff Geerling

The only problem is how short those announcements will be.

We're announcing an update to our product.

The price is $$$ and it'll be in stores next month. Thanks for watching!

Without ad blockers it is impossible to be on the Internet at all. And now we need new generation filters that will be triggered by AI and cut out parasitic information.

Excellent idea. AI is rapidly becoming so everyday, anything that strings a few words together is dubbed AI, that it's becoming as meaningless as it is unintelligent. A pity, because in certain cases, e.g. health research and development, it can be extremely useful. Our current 'civilisations' tarnish everything with with a money motive. #AI

product anouncements would be 15 ish minutes instead of an hour. Would love this though, I have watched latest releases from Apple and Google afterwards so I can do the AI skipping myself
in reply to Jeff Geerling

LOL, I turn off the Apple announcement before they even started talking and went to their web site where I could **read** the specs. Read. Imagine that.
in reply to Jeff Geerling

You press it and it skips... straight to the outro music. 😔
in reply to Jeff Geerling

I'm with you on this. I skipped pretty much all of the recent imac reveal. They said apple intelligence a dozen times before saying anything else. Thankfully they had chapter markers so that I could skip to the info about the hardware.

Delete AI. Delete AI so hard it kills the directories it's stored in, in California.

Does it skip announcements about AI products, or product announcements written by AI?
