I guess #Trump thinks this will win votes? He's getting laughed off the Internets right now.
Ammar Moussa:
HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA
this is why they paid Chris 22 million dollars.
Oh my GOD.
Rupar:
As Americans are outraged by someone at his rally who compared #PuertoRico to garbage, Trump thought it would be cute to take questions from a gigantic garbage truck
Via Trump's guy LaCivita:
Marc Anthony:
I’m here to tell you that even though some have forgotten … I remember.
I remember what it was like when Trump was president.
I remember what he did and said, about Puerto Rico…
About our people ...
I remember after Hurricane Maria devastated our island…
Trump blocked billions in relief … while thousands died.
I remember that when our families lacked clean water and electricity,
Trump threw paper towels and called Puerto Rico “dirty” and “poor.”

Fat chance, redux:
The Archbishop of San Juan is asking #Trump to personally apologize for the racist comments made during Trump's MSG debacle.
"It is not sufficient for your campaign to apologize," Archbishop Roberto Gonzalez writes. "It is important that you, personally, apologize for these comments."
The letter was posted in both English and Spanish.
Via Kyle Griffin:
The #Harris campaign is already out with a new ad — 'Deserve Better,' targeting battleground Latino voters — highlighting the #Trump MSG racist debacle. #PuertoRico
Dark Brandon is the best.
Via Rupar:
#Biden: "Yes, #PuertoRico. I'd like to take that guy for a swim out there."
Let's hope this really makes a difference now, vote-wise.
Chyron: #Trump claims he didn't hear "garbage joke" about #PuertoRico"
Via Kamala HQ (has vid):
Latino radio host in #Pennsylvania: It’s too late for Trump. I've heard it from my audience. He needed to say something right away and he hasn't done it by now. It’s too late. He can bring anybody he wants from Puerto Rico and it’s not gonna make a difference
Via Jean-Michel Connard:
Sure, don’t apologize, call them ungrateful. That should help.
#Trump: "No president has done more for #PuertoRico than I have."
Aaron is spot on.
Via @atrupar:
If you're mad about the MAGA comedian comparing #PuertoRico to garbage, then you should be just as mad about this
Kamala HQ:
#Trump: America is like a garbage can
Fat chance
Via Kyle Griffin:
#PuertoRico's Republican Party chairman says he's withholding his support from #Trump unless he apologizes for the racist remarks made during the MSG debacle.
So, we are doing another round of "this is not who we are".
And then we get a well meaning version of "<minority> have fought in wars and many currently serve in the US military".
Which in itself is transactional af.
Do they ever check who the greatest Amish general was?
These empty political Lego speech blocks are, let's say, not endearing.
Give Puerto Rico statehood or independence. Period.
The New York Daily News today puts the NYT, WaPo and WSJ to shame.

Let's talk loudly about the Kamala Harris plan for Puerto Rico instead, and suck the oxygen away from the Trump campaign.

Gov. Walz and AOC react to this clip: “When you have some a-hole calling #PuertoRico ‘floating garbage,’ know that that's what they think about you. It's what they think about anyone who makes less money than them… I want every Puerto Rican in Philadelphia and Reading and across the country to see this clip” (Posts clip)
In 2016, Trump was elected on a #GOP platform that advocated "the right of the United States citizens of Puerto Rico to be admitted to the Union as a fully sovereign state."
After the Republicans took both houses of Congress and the Presidency, Mitch McConnell denounced proposals for #PuertoRico statehood as "full bore socialism."

11 years ago, as I prepared to leave Puerto Rico for the mainland United States, my father shared words that have echoed through time: "Your vote will be more impactful there than here." Never have those words rung more true than during this election cycle. To my fellow boricuas in the diaspora: we carry our culture, our heritage, and our power wherever we go. We must vote for the candidates who recognize, respect, and honor our identity and the resilience of our global community.

"When you have some a-hole calling #PuertoRico 'floating garbage,' know that that's what they think about you. It's what they think about anyone who makes less money than them."
2/ Via CBS's Cristina Corujo:
Chairman of the Republican Party of #PuertoRico Ángel Cintrón calls comedian Tony Hinchcliffe comments on Puerto Rico “unfortunate, ignorant and entirely reprehensible.”
Hinchcliffe’s called the island a “floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean.”
After Trump's paper towel stunt in Puerto Rico (and the malevolent delay in aid), it would be such sweet karma if Puerto Rican voters played a pivotal role in his defeat.
