"If you really, truly, deeply believed that Trump would lower prices quickly? I’m sorry. You’re an idiot."

~ Michael Tomasky

The truth is, it never was about the economy for a majority of Trump voters. Truth is, they knew exactly whom and what they were voting for. "The economy" was just a specious excuse. The racism and heterosexist male entitlement and immigrant bashing: that's what they wanted.

"President Trump erupted Thursday in a wild rage on Truth Social in which he appeared to blame pollsters for failing to register his world-historical success."

"Americans are seeing what it looks like when you send masked people out to pick people off the street in vans and take them away and ship them to foreign torture prisons, right? And this is not what they had in mind."

Trump is only worried that the billionaires who kept him out of jail for the Jan 6 coup might ditch him for a younger, smarter fascist despot.

@Npars01 There was a suggestion on Twitter before it became the Nazi echo chamber it is now that politicians should wear the patches of their sponsors "à la" Formula 1 style on their clothes!
in reply to Dan: Get the F out Hoekstra

There used to be plenty of such satirical images showing tattoos of Republican sponsors.

Ones that show Koch Network & Georgia Pacific on Mitch McConnell's face, for example.

Those images have been scrubbed from Google search results. They no longer appear.

There used to be hundreds of such satirical images of the GOP & their megadonors.

@oldguy52

I was able to find this cartoon by searching for "Mitch McConnell koch addict political cartoon" on google and bing, but one has to be very specific to find the cartoons

Edit: found it finally!

Republicans serve their fascist billionaires, not democracy

Every Republican should have similar facial tattoos showing who owns them.

[I've spent some time trying to find the picture of Mitch McConnell with a creepy grin, with tattoos on his face with Koch, Georgia Pacific and other Republican donors/sponsors.

It used to be a top search result on Google, & now it's not appearing at all.

I've tried several versions of terms similar to yours.]

"As my final column of the year, I wanted to take some stock of where our country stands as 2025 winds down. The events of this week drive an inescapable conclusion: Donald Trump is losing. …

Never this year has Donald Trump looked as weak as he did yesterday."

"Plenty of American CEOs have proven themselves to be quite morally flexible; plenty of them appear willing to pay once-unthinkable bribes if it helps their business, even unconstitutional export taxes! …

That fundamental cowardice and weakness stands in sharp contrast to the many Americans who have bravely stood up at an individual level…."

"Even if Trumpism fails, America is fundamentally changed. We have always told ourselves 'it can’t happen here.' But it now has — and we can never look at our country the same again. Trump has made American daily life coarser, more rude, and less welcoming to others. We have seen fundamental tears this year in the civic fabric of our country and communities."

"We now recognize and confront strains of our neighbors — especially racism and misogyny — in a way more naked and violent than most of us had believed possible in the 21st century. Decades of progress in welcoming trans people and people with disabilities and different learning styles into American life have been unwound; decades of hard-fought progress by Blacks and women in the military and government have been undone."

"No foreign entrepreneur or high-skilled immigrant student will look at the US with the sense of safety, security, and opportunity that they did before January 20th. Once-secure research positions at labs, universities, and medical centers will never feel as sure-a-thing as they did."
