“International Brotherhood of Teamsters will not endorse a candidate in the presidential race, for the first time in nearly three decades, in a blow to the Democratic Party, which has reliably received the union’s approval for years, according to the union.
The Teamsters confirmed the decision not to endorse. The union’s executive board was meeting in Washington to consider an endorsement on Wednesday afternoon.”

in reply to Laffy • • •@mbrailer Yeah, it's a pretty well-used word in more intersectional circles, and saying "steal" hits the wrong note.
Not scolding you, just offering a polite fyi.

in reply to Laffy • • •@mbrailer I was just pointing out that "stealing" a word (literally taking ownership even though your figurative use is obvious), instead of just noting that it isn't yours, in a racialized context might come off more oafish than whimsical, but you do you.
Anyway, it's not like you would compound the faux pas by accusing anyone of being oversensitive or anything.

in reply to humanadverb • • •@humanadverb First, why are you being so provocative and argumentative, especially over this?
Second, I was being very gentle when I said "seems maybe a little oversensitive"... but "you do you."
I see why you have only 32 followers after a year on Mastodon.
Meantime, I'll do me and block you. #Toodles

Blocked.
