there was also a push to use another hashtag #femstodon to call for support against misogynistic trolls, harassers, etc. The intent was that allies would respond and report the offending post/account, with the assumption that multiple reports would have greater influence than one person reporting individually (better chance of the account being suspended or defederated). Laffy’s #Toodles hashtag does the same, quite effectively. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this.

They're not similar. There are, of course, corporate interests & they suck. But there IS some altruism, but not as much as there should be.

There was a Trump admin for a number of reasons, racism a primary one. "He sounds just like me." Grievance from a fraud pitchman, too.
