Superintendent says Liam Ramos and his father were taken into custody while in their driveway and sent to TexasSam Levin (The Guardian)
Liam’s teacher Ella Sullivan was in visible tears during the announcement that Liam had been taken away. “He’s a bright young student, & he’s so kind & loving, & his classmates miss him, & all I want is for him to be safe & back here,” Sullivan said.
According to Columbia Heights district officials, 3 other students, all under the age of 18 have been detained by federal agents in recent weeks.

Marc Prokosch, a lawyer representing Ramos’ family, said he is still not sure of the exact current whereabouts of Liam & his dad. He believes, based on the experience of other clients he has worked with, that they are currently in #Texas in a family holding cell.

According to Stenvik, masked agents apprehended 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos in his driveway on Tuesday as he returned home from school with his father.

"...Marc Prokosch, an attorney representing the family, said the family has an active asylum case and shared paperwork showing the father and son had arrived to the US at a port of entry, meaning an official crossing point.
“The family did everything they were supposed to in accordance with how the rules have been set out,” he said. “They did not come here illegally. They are not criminals.” He said there was no order of deportation against them and he believes the father and son have remained together in detention...."
