The good news; homicide & violent crime in England & Wales has reached low levels (in the case of murder, to the lost level in 50 years)....
The not so good news: shoplifting & thefts from business premises (including retail) are up - in some case pretty significantly.
Whether this is because people are going out less, or the criminals see businesses as easier picking is less clear, but the shape of crime is certainly shifting.
