Rabbi Tzvi Kostiner, who heads the Midbarah K'Eden yeshiva in Mitzpe Ramon and is associated with the Hardal (Haredi-National Religious) sector, has expressed several controversial positions:

He stated that "a Jewish army is an army without women" and claims that female conscription to the IDF is part of a cultural war aimed at destroying the family unit. About a year ago, he was documented at a protest encampment outside then-Knesset member Nir Orbach's home, where he made anti-LGBTQ+ statements, saying: "Don't be ashamed! Take courage! Wherever you work, say 'homosexuals go home!'. This is evil, evil, evil. They are going to bring this madness into every home."
