I read #Dune long ago, then again some years later. I tried the sequels and couldn't, they were not Dune. Time passed and I got my hands on The Butlerian Jihad, and enjoyed it! I'm about to begin God Emperor of Dune and at this point I need to see where all this goes!

I finished Children of Dune the other day and I have really enjoyed the series so far. Great mix of sci-fi nonsense with political intrigue and philosophy, plus it's always fun reading the sci-fi classics that lots of now-tropes draw from.

I dunno how many more of them I'll read but the first three are easily in my top 5 sci-fi series.

Just started reading this book "Analyzing US Census Data: Methods, Maps, and Models in R" by @kyle_e_walker , which covers how to work with US Census data using R!

LINK: walker-data.com/census-r/index…

Pretty curious about exploring demographic data in R, especially given my work in environmental and social spaces! 🌱 ❀️

Thus, I can't wait to finish this book and dive into US Census data! πŸ˜„ πŸ’‘ πŸ’»

Students in a rural school district in the poorest county in Oregon are crushing it at reading. The district's reading scores were second-best in the state overall, and its third graders were ranked first in the state.

Luckily the county has an excellent newspaper that punches well above its weight-- the Malheur Enterprise -- and one of their reporters sat in with a third grade class to see why those students read so well.
