So this pope in 2026 is saying exactly what I said about our humanity and AI in 2021 in the closing paragraph of the Preface to my reference book Machine Law, Ethics, and Morality in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.
And dimwits like JD Vance are in the news today calling it "profound" because it is said by a pope.
Well, let me tell you, it was no less profound when I published it five years ago.
From my 2021 book Preface:"Whatever waits behind, or inside, each shiny new object, we will be wise to insist that we stay human, keeping AI at a safe distance where we control and regulate what we have at our disposal through thoughtful, considerate, and balanced research, deployment, and policy-making with keen focus on all requisite laws, ethics, and morality considerations."
