Importing bookmarks to 11ty with the Pocket API | stebre.ch

Pocket offers an API with which the saved bookmarks can be used and customized. I make use of this and save the data in a bookmark post on stebre.ch. Bookmarks with a specific tag are taken into account.

lasR, a new software for working with large lidar datasets, developed by the author of the lidR package, one of the most dedicated and experienced developers in this field I know. It is free, open source and very fast. Currently there is an R API with others possibly coming in the future.

Broadcom acquisition of VMware disaster

I feel badly for small businesses and non-profits who are suffering from the huge price increases in VMware products and support after the Broadcom acquisition. So many of our SMB customers use the VMware suite of products. There is really no other platform that is easily available for migration.

We partnered with VMware before the acquisition and they were just a great team to work with. I guess all of that is pretty much gone.

Of all the risks that organizations plan for this type of disruption is rarely on the radar. And no one plans for the financial costs.
